DRUG ROVERS
If someone appears to be sleeping or having problems with drugs or alcohol, find an ACON Drug Rover or get medical help straight away...
At most of the big parties throughout the Mardi Gras season, ACON’s Drug Rovers are on the lookout for people experiencing problems with drugs and alcohol use.
- They’re not the cops or security – a Rover is only interested in your health.
- Rovers give their time for free and are trained to be the eyes of medical teams at parties. They’ll help you get to the medical tent or stay with you until help arrives.
Give your mates a hand...
If you see a person who might need help, get someone to sit with them and find help immediately – either a Drug Rover, medical expert or security guard.
ACON can help you...
ACON’s Drug Rovers have been attending parties since 2003. They keep an eye on party-goers to make sure everyone’s playing safe, taking breaks and keeping cool.
If you’d like to volunteer as a Drug Rover, call Nicky on 9206 2097 to find out when the next training program kicks off.
